Assessment & Evaluation: In 2007, CCI was awarded a multi-phase contract by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Workforce and Career Development (OWCD) to determine the role and functionality of a Strategic Recruiter at the Agency. CCI approached the assessment in three ways: 1) conducting an assessment of underrepresented ethnic, racial and cultural groups in the CDC workforce; 2) conducting an assessment of existing Strategic Recruiting Activities in other federal agencies; and 3) conducting an assessment of strategic recruiting issues both in Atlanta-based CDC programs and domestic CDC programs located outside of the Atlanta area. As part of the assessment, CCI conducted interviews with recruiting staff at other federal agencies and in the private sector including the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources Services Administration, Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Coca Cola Company. From these assessments, CCI prepared a recommendation report that integrated the feedback received from all three assessments into one approach. Following the review of the report by CDC and OWCD leadership, CCI assisted CDC in finalizing implementation plans and provided an Interim Strategic Recruiter until a federal employee was identified.

Under contract with CDC, CCI has also evaluated the overall effectiveness of CDC’s Business and Facilities Office Management Program Assessment; conducted an assessment to assist with implementation of a CDC Ombudsman Office; examined and edited NIOSH research evaluation packages as part of a comprehensive review of occupational safety and health programs; supported a multi-site evaluation of school-located vaccinations; assessed the current viral hepatitis surveillance system at the national and state levels; and assessed the operations of the Division of Cancer Control and Prevention Management Office (MO) and the Office of Program and Policy Information (OPPI) in order to increase collaboration and teamwork and make recommendations on reporting relationships.
